Vintage Rolex Explorer 1016

 

The Explorer line of watches were produced to withstand extreme adventures. The prototype model was given to Tenzig Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary as they ascended Mount Everest under brutally harsh conditions. The durable little watch survived with flying colors and quickly went into production. From that point to today, the Explorer model has remained virtually unchanged. That is a testament to Rolex’s craftsmanship, durability and tradition.
